Korea Lighthouse law, the history of 100 years Kim, Yong-Wook* *Emeritus Professor, Pusan National University This "Korea Lighthouse law, the history of 100 years" is a dissertation, which reviews the history of light house law and administration from 1903 when modern light house was established in Wolmi island, In-Cheon to 2003. The lighthouse which was installed in 1903 was not for securing our sea, port and ship but for supporting the aggressive war between Japan and Russia(the Russo-Japanese War), and after annexing Korea, Japan installed more lighthouse in seashore for their own purpose. Thus, the history of lighthouse is just the history of aggressiveness and Korea at that times. After Korea liberated from Japanese imperialism, the law and order of maritime affairs was still valid in the period of U.S. Army Military Government, too. The law and order of navigation aids and maritime affairs had been valid since foundation of nation because Constitution Article 100 ordained that existing law and order which did not conflict Constitution is in effect. But the law of navigation aids during Japanese occupation has been abrogated completely since Korea navigation aids law was enacted in 6th December, 1961. Korea navigation aids law which is composed of 20 articles has had more detailed contents because of going through several revisions and enacting an enforcement ordinance of aid to navigation.
