초록
시대가 변화함에 따라 매체는 발전을 계속해 왔다. 이것은 이미지의 표현가능성과 영역의 확장을 가져왔고, 인터넷이란 새로운 가상공간의 대두와 함께, 수없이 많은 변형과 생성을 반복하게 되었다. 그러나 그 이미지들은 본질적인 변화를 갖지 못하였기에, 변화된 수없이 많은 이미지들을 보더라도 어디선가 본 것 같은 기시감을 갖게 되었다. 새로운 이미지의 생성을 위해 본 논문에서는 패턴 이론을 근거로 한 이미지의 표현성에 관한 내용을 다루고, 이미지의 구성과 해체, 반복을 통해서 본 새로운 이미지의 제작과 작품으로서의 창조적인 표현방법을 제시하고자 하였다. 실시간 카메라를 적용하여 패턴이미지의 새로운 방향성을 모색하였고, 기존의 패턴 이미지가 가지는 한계성을 벗어나 구체적인 대상을 갖지만, 그 대상이 아닌 새로운 이미지처럼 보이는 패턴 이미지를 프로그래밍을 통하여 제작하였다. 앞으로의 패턴 이미지에서의 발전은 패턴 이미지 안의 구체적 대상이 진화하고 변화하여야 한다. 마치 다윈의 진화론처럼 이미지 자체가 새로운 형으로의 변화를 가지고 바뀌어 나가야만 그 변화는 무한에 가까워질 것이며, 이미지가 생명을 가질 것이다. 이는 이미지를 단순히 하나의 최종 결과를 중시하는 것에서 이미지의 변화과정 자체에 주목을 하게 될 것이고, 변화과정 자체가 또 하나의 이미지가 될 것이다. 미래의 이미지 주체는 이미지도, 이미지를 만드는 사람도, 이미지를 소비하는 사람도 될 수 없다. 이미지의 주체는 이미지를 소비하는 사람들의 생각이 될 것이다. 그 생각은 이미지에 모티브를 제공하고, 모티브는 이미지를 생산, 변형시킬 것이며, 전혀 상상할 수 없는 효과로 자신에게 되돌아올 것이다.
Abstract
Not only does the change in media have brought the potential for better expression and articulation, but also expansion of its boundary itself as the virtual space of internet appeared, the media has gone through countless transformation and reformation. However, the images that the media transfers have not gone through fundamental change in themselves. Thus, the lack of fundamental change in images yields people an impression that they have seen them somewhere else. Furthermore, beyond the mere application of the pattern theory, which results the restricted possibilities in images, the paper will explore further attempts. That is, by having concrete subjects in the image, I questioned the limit of abstract pattern image through the programming. Through those trials, I studied the new potential for formation, transformation, and extinction of the image. The development in pattern image in the future will be done as the subject evolves and changes. As in the theory of evolution by Darwin, the image itself will transform itself into a new form almost limitlessly. The change will get great giving life to image. This obviously gives more significance to the evolving process itself rather than the final result itself creating the process itself as another "image." Therefore, this change will reposition the roles of the authors, or people from mere production to creation of mysterious species. This new status will affect our perspective in the production, transformation and consumption of image. The essence of the image will not be the image itself nor the authors, nor the consumers. The main subject of the image will be the thoughts of the consumers. The thoughts will offer the motives, and the motives will produce and transform the image. And this will return to the authors.
