생산정보시스템의 도입 성과 측정에 관한 연구：중소제조업체를 중심으로

중소제조업체들은 원가 절감과 생산성 향상을 위해 생산정보시스템을 도입, 운영하고 있으나 이에 대한 성과평가 연구가 전무하여, 최고경영자는 생산정보시스템 투자여부 등을 결정하는데 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 DeLone and McLean(2003)의 연구 모형을 바탕으로, 생산정보시스템 투자에 대한 성과평가 모형을 제시하고, 모형 검증을 위해 생산정보시스템을 도입한 중소기업을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 본 연구는 처음으로 생산정보시스템에의 투자 성과를 실증적 연구를 통해 밝혀냄으로써 이 분야의 선도 연구로서 가치가 있으며 성과 평가를 통해 생산정보시스템의 도입 효과가 높은 것으로 나타나 CEO에게 생산정보시스템 투자여부, 도입 후 계속 추진 및 확대/축소 등의 투자 수정 여부 등의 의사결정에 도움을 줄 것이다. 또한 DeLone and McLean의 IS 성공 모형을 바탕으로 생산정보시스템의 성공적 활용을 위한 주요 요인과 그 경로를 밝혀냄으로써 생산정보시스템 구축 시 주요한 관리 요소들을 도출하였고, 향후 생산정보시스템 구축 시 개발자와 관리자들은 도출된 주요 요인들을 중점적으로 관리함으로써 성공적인 시스템의 활용을 도모할 수 있다. 한편, DeLone and McLean의 연구결과와는 달리 정보시스템의 질과 정보의 질 변수간의 상관관계가 매우 높은 것으로 나타나 두 변수간의 관계에 대한 학문적 논의의 필요성을 인식시켰다.
Abstract
SMEs have implemented Production Information Systems (PIS) to reduce their production costs and increase productivity. However, due to the lack of research on this issue, CEOs have difficulties in investment decision making on the PIS. Thus, in this paper, based on the DeLone and McLean’s IS success model, the framework for measuring the PIS performance was suggested and data was collected with a mail survey. The results of data analysis showed that the PIS has positive impacts on the organizational performance. This paper is a leading research on the performance measurement of PIS at the Small and Medium Manufactures. In addition, the critical success factors revealed in this study can be carefully managed by practitioners for successful implementation of a PIS. Unlike the result of DeLone and McLean, variables between the system quality and information quality have strong correlations and thus, the further study will be required.
