책임감 모형의 초등학교 5학년 체육 수업에 대한 적용 가능성

The purpose of this study was to investigate the applicability of the Hellison's responsibility model on the 5th graders' elementary physical education class. The model was conducted to the 5th graders' PE class in E elementary located in D city from March of 2006 though June of 2006. Results indicated that the positive cases observed in LevelⅠwere recognition of the learning right in other students(n=17) and peaceful conflict resolution(n=7), however, lack of self-control and respect(n=6) were also observed. The positive cases observed in LevelⅡwere the participation of physical activity and effort(n=9), trial of new activity(n=8), and the experience of personal success(n=8). However, some of students in Level II showed lack of participation and effort(n=6). The positive cases observed in LevelⅢ were self-paced activity(n=10) and participation without bothering(n=6). But lack of self-directed goal-setting and performance(n=13) was also observed. The positive case observed in Level Ⅳ was helping other students(n=10). The other cases also showed reverse attitude on class participation(n=15) and lack of caring(n=3). Throughout the application of the responsibility model, male and female students preferred Level II, and Level IV, respectively, due to classroom climate and game tasks. Classroom climate changed from chaos and distracted class to ordered class after application of the responsibility model. Also, based on interview students were satisfied with the responsibility model, and the classroom teacher told that students' guidance and instruction were facilitated. Hence, the application of Hellison's responsibility model on elementary physical education class implied the positive possibility.
