1980년대 영국정부의 금융규제 정책변화에 대한 미국의 영향력 행사경로에 대한 비판적 검토:내부적 동인을 중심으로

Generally speaking the understanding of challenges in the financial regulatory policies can be divided into two camps: endogenous and exogenous factors-centric review. Above all, it is possible to approach the endogenous factors-centric review from the culture-centric, interest-centric, idea-centric and politics-centricaspects. In the meantime, from the exogenous aspect, financial decontrol was inspired by the rapid technological change in the sector of financial services and the increase in capital mobility as well as the deregulation of capital market in the US in 1979 in a more direct way. From the exogenous aspect, this article examines whether it is possible to understand that the British capital decontrol in the 1980s was a simple reaction to the exogenous impacts derived from market forces and the policy changes in the financial hegemonic state such as the US. Ultimately this article argues that the British capital decontrol was not simply a reaction to them. Rather we can witness the partial aspect of ‘ideational’ utilization concerning financial deregulation derived from adjusting the neo-liberal policy by the domestic decision makers. We can also witness the dynamic of the British financial decontrol in the internalisation of the competative pressures to the internal demand of the City of London.
