초록
This study reports the results of field experiments that tested the effects of self-sacrifice leadership and the mediating role of followers' extroversiveness. Field experiments were conducted with 612 subjects in the Korean Armed Forces to investigate the effects of company commanders' self-sacrifice on followers' perception of the commander's charisma and organization commitment. Consistent with the previous empirical evidence, the main effects of self-sacrifice were confirmed: sacrificing yielded higher perception of charisma and organization commitment. These effects were moderated, in some groups at 10% confidence level, by the followers' extroversiveness. Implications and limitations of the results are discussed in the Conclusion.
