An Empirical Study of Joining Franchise Systems Motivational Factors from the Franchisee's Point of View

초록

An empirical investigation has been conducted to identify underlying dimensions that motivate entrepreneurs to join franchise systems. The result indicates that personal factors in psychological dimension play an important role in the decision of entrepreneurs to join franchise systems in addition to well-known traditional advantages such as 'managerial (or operational) support', and 'proven business methods'. The result of factor Analysis suggests that autonomy-oriented policy seems to be a useful addition to the franchisor's strategy to satisfy franchisees.
