산업연관모델을 이용한 카지노산업의 경제적 파급효과 분석

본 연구의 목적은 산업연관모델을 이용하여 카지노산업의 경제적 파급효과를 분석하는데 있다. 이를 위하여 404x404 산업연관표 기본부문으로부터 33x33 부문으로 통합하고, 이중에서 카지노산업과 관광산업을 세분류하였다. 산업연관모델로부터 생산, 소득, 고용, 부가가치, 간접세, 그리고 수입승수를 도출하였으며, 추가적으로 외화가득효과와 전후방 연쇄효과도 분석하였다.분석결과 소득, 고용, 부가가치, 그리고 간접세 승수는 전체 산업 중 10위권 안에 포함되어 카지노산업이 소득과 고용창출 그리고 부가가치와 재정수입 창출효과가 매우 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 외화가득효과도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 카지노업의 전후방효과를 분석한 결과, 타산업으로부터 받는 영향력은 작으나, 타산업에 주는 영향력은 상대적으로 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 카지노산업의 총외화획득액 4억 2,341만 달러가 우리나라 전체 경제에 미친 총 경제적 파급효과를 분석한 결과, 총생산파급액은 12억700만 달러, 총소득파급액은 2억7,400만 달러, 부가가치파급액은 5억달러, 총간접세파급액은 4,600만 달러, 총고용파급자수는 12,577명으로 각각 나타났다. 반면에 카지노산업의 수입(輸入)파급액은 1억3,500만 달러로 나타났다.
Abstract
This paper aims to estimate the economic impacts of casino industry on the Korean economy, using an input-output(I-O) model. The 404 x 404 national transactions tables were aggregated into 33 x 33 economic sectors where casino and tourism sectors were disaggregated. Casino multipliers were derived from the I-O model in terms of output, income, employment, value added, indirect tax, and import. Furthermore, rate of foreign exchange earnings and forward and backward linkage effects were also derived for the casino industry. The results of the study indicate that casino multipliers of income, employment, value added, and tax were higher than other industrial sectors. Rate of foreign exchange earnings for the casino industry was also found to be higher than other industrial sectors. The results also show that backward linkage effect was greater than forward linkage effect. The I-O analysis indicates that in 2005 the casino receipts generated output impact of US$1,207 million, income impact of US$274 million, employment impact of 12,577 full-time equivalent jobs, value-added impact of US$502 million, tax impact of US$46 million, and import impact of US$135 million, respectively.
