한국 가톨릭학교 종교교육의 쟁점-법적, 개념적, 실천적 관점에서-

The purpose of this study is to reveal critical issues on the religious education in the Catholic schools in Korea. Through the research this study found the followings: First, the laws on the religious education are conflict each other that result in the conflicts between religious neutrality of public education and the founding identity of religious schools as well as between individual's freedom of religion and freedom of mission of religious orders. Second, the concept of the religious education are not clear enough to make confusion not only between the Ministry of Education and Human Resources and schools, but also between a school and a school in terms of definition, purpose, and contents of the religious education. Third, due to the conflict with the government's educational policy, the textbooks of religious education are not coherent to the purpose of the each school's educational purpose; the curriculum of religious education are not proper; and there is lack of effective programs for religious education teachers. For solving the programs, there are three approaches to be considered. First we should manage the conflict among the laws relevant to the religious education. Second, those who are in charge of the religious education at the government and school level should make the concept and purpose of the religious education clearer for its educational effectiveness. Third, for more effective practice, we should create better textbooks of the religious education, teaching methods, and education system for teacher development.
