한국전자기업의 환경, 핵심역량 그리고 생산전략 간의 내적 일관성에 관한 실증분석

본 연구는 국내 전자제조기업을 대상으로, 환경, 핵심역량, 생산전략 간의 내적 일관성을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 기존의 생산전략 모형을 기반으로 환경요인, 핵심역량 요인, 생산전략 요인 그리고 생산전략 프로그램 요인으로 구성된 생산전략 모형을 제시하고, 이들 영역들의 내적 일관성을 실증적으로 검증하였다. 그리고 세 가지 요인 중 특히 핵심역량 요인의 생산전략 수립과정에 대한 역할 규명에 그 초점을 두었다. 분석 결과, 핵심역량 중 제품경쟁능력이 외부 경쟁환경과 생산전략 중요도의 관계에 있어서 조정역할을 수행하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이 조정역할은 제품경쟁 능력이 높을수록 생산전략에 있어서 가격/납기 요인의 중요도는 상대적으로 감소하며, 유연성 요인의 중요도는 상대적으로 증가한다는 사실로 해석된다. 생산전략 변수 중요도와 생산활동 프로그램 수행도의 내적 일관성 검정에 있어서는 품질 전략군, 유연성 전략군이 가격/납기 전략군, 무전략군에 비해 생산활동 프로그램의 수행도가 높은 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
In this paper, we empirically investigated the intrinsic fit among environment, core competences, and manufacturing strategy of Korean domestic electronic manufacturing firms. In the manufacturing strategy model, we considered four key factors, such as external environment, core competences (competitive capabilities of product and competitive capabilities of value chain),manufacturing strategy (priorities in manufacturing strategy ), and manufacturing activity programs. The major findings obtained from the statistical analysis of a sample of 72 business units are as follows: 1. Competitive capabilities of product plays the role of moderator variable in the relationships between external environment and priorities in manufacturing strategy. 2. Intrinsic fit exists between priorities in manufacturing strategy and manufacturing activity programs. 3. Both quality group, and flexibility group outperform cost/delivery time group and no priority group in terms of execution of manufacturing activity programs .Korean domestic electronics firms have changed their priority from cost to quality and flexibility and appear to perform actively quality innovation and information system buildup.
