지방정부의 사회개발비 지출이 지역경제에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구

This study analyzed the effect of social development expenditure on the local economy, which has taken the lion's share in the whole expenditures by local autonomous bodies since 2000, surpassing the economic development expenditure. The findings of study indicated that the expenditures related to the education, culture, health and the improvement of living environment which fall in the category of investment had a statistically significant effect on the growth of local economy in the whole part of nation except in Gyoenggi-do, if the social development expenditure was classified into the investment category expenditure, such as education, health, culture, improvement of living environment, housing, local community development, and current account category such as the social security expenditure, which is based on the empirical analysis focusing on the local GDP per capita and local tax revenue, the independent variables. This indicates that social development expenditure by function of local autonomous bodies has a positive effect on the local economic growth and development whether it is the investment category or current account category, implying that the social development expenditure which was classified into a consumption category has played a positive role in promoting the growth of local economy though there was a much concern amid the increased spending by local autonomous bodies.
