인터페이스 디자인에 나타난 한국적 스타일 연구

Interface design is fast rising as the leading industry for our future, as it is confirmed that contents can enjoy nearly eternal recognition life span in the digital world. Thus, it is essential to develop our unique design in order to secure national competitiveness and express our unique cultural identity. Based on naturalism, which is affected by natural environment, and our life-world, such as our surroundings, clothing, food and art, as well as ideology and philosophy, this paper characterizes Korean Style as following four beauties: beauty of nature, beauty of line, beauty of empty space, and beauty of pure white. Then, the paper finds ways to effectively express these four beauties through the web browser by applying right sort of GUI(Graphic User Interface), such as layout, image, color, font and etc.Moreover, by analyzing styles of various sorts of web sites, the paper identifies strengths and weaknesses of 'Design with Korean Style.' By finding out designs that are preferred by Koreans, we can find universality in our culture. Also, by studying designs that highlight originality of the Korean culture, this paper aims to enhance the image of Korea in the world market through application of unique formative factors in our traditional cultural heritage. This study seeks to establish 'Korean Design' as rightful cultural contents by using interface design that best express the true beauty of the Korean culture.
