소유구조와 재량적 발생이 기업가치에 미치는 영향

>본 연구는 상장법인을 대상으로 첫째, 기업의 소유구조의 특성이 경영자의 재량적 발생에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는가에 대해 연구하며 둘째, 기업의 소유구조의 특성이 기업가치에 미치는 영향에 대해 연구하였고 마지막으로 재량적 발생에 의한 경영자의 이익조정이 기업가치에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 실증적으로 조사하는데 연구의 목적을 두고 있다.실증분석 결과, 경영자, 외부대주주와 외국인의 지분보유율에 따라 기회주의적인 이익조정 행위인 재량적 발생은 차이가 없다는 연구결과를 보이고 있다. 한편 외국인에 대한 주식투자한도의 철폐에 따라 기업가치는 상승하였다는 연구결과를 보이고 있다. 즉, 기업의 외국인 지분율이 증가하여 상대적인 내부지분율 하락으로 기업 경영자의 경영권 침해의 우려가 있었으나 이와는 상반되게 더욱 긍정적인 기업가치상승이라는 효과를 보이는 연구결과이다. 마지막으로 기업의 재량적 발생에 따라 기업가치는 낮게 평가된다는 Francis et al.(1999)의 연구결과와 일치하는 결과를 보이고 있다.
Abstract
>This paper examines the effects of ownership structure and discretionary accruals on the firm value. The man objective of this paper is to examine how ownership structure and discretionary accruals will influence the firm value. To test the hypothesis which are proposed with respect to the effects of ownership structure on the discretionary accruals(H1), ownership structure on the firm value(H2) and discretionary accruals on the firm value(H3), an empirical research was conducted on 446 Korean firms listed in the security market.The findings of this paper can be summarized as follows. In the analysis of multiple regression, the result for effects of ownership structure on the discretionary accruals is agreement with the hypotheses predictions, even after controlling for all the other variables. But the results from effect of ownership structure on the firm values are relatively found to be highly significant. And the results from effect of discretionary accruals on the firm values are corroborated in the studied firms. The hypothesis 3 result is consistent with the Francis et al.'s result. The evidence demonstrates that capital market participants assess positively the policy that Korean government enlarged investment opportunities for the foreign investors.
