EDI 효과에 관한 기존연구는 대부분 단편적이고 평면적인 일차원적 연구가 주류를 이루고 있으나, 일부의 기존연구에서는 EDI 효과가 계층구조의 형태로 상호관련성을 가지고 있다며 이론적으로 주장하고 있다. 그러나 EDI 효과 요인의 인과관계를 실증적으로 검증한 연구는 찾아보기 힘든 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 선행연구에서 이론적으로 설명하는 부분을 뒷받침할 수 있는 실증적 연구를 수행하여 EDI 효과 구성요인간의 상호관련성을 다차원적으로 분석하여, 요인간의 인과관계를 계층적으로 파악하고, EDI 효과 구성요인의 인과모형을 개발하고자 한다. 본 연구의 주요내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, EDI 평면적 효과와 계층적 효과에 관한 문헌연구를 통하여 측정도구 개발에 필요한 EDI 효과항목을 도출하고, EDI 사용 기업을 대상으로 자료를 수집하고 분석하여 EDI 효과 구성요인을 도출한다. 둘째, 자료분석 결과 밝혀진 다섯가지 효과 구성요인의 다차원적 인과관계를 경로도형으로 나타내어, EDI 효과 구성요인의 인과모형을 제안한다. 셋째, EDI의 효과에 관한 선행연구를 근거로 제안한 인과모형을 LISREL을 이용하여 공분산 구조분석을 실시하여 실증적으로 검증하고, 그 결과를 해석하여 연구의 시사점과 한계점을 제시한다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시간단축요인과 비용절감요인, 정보품질요인과 운영효율향상요인, 비용절감요인과 경쟁우위요인, 운영효율요인과 경쟁우위요인들간에는 계층적 구조를 이루며 상호관련성을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 시간단축요인과 기업의 운영효율향상 요인간에는 유의한 수준에서 인과관계가 발견되지 않았다. 셋째, 정보품질요인과 비용절감요인은 음의 인과관계가 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 넷째, 시간단축요인과 정보품질요인은 비용절감요인과 운영효율요인에 인과관계를 가지며, 비용절감요인과 운영효율요인은 경쟁우위요인에 인과관계를 가지는 것으로 검증되었다. 본 연구에서 제안한 3계층으로 구성된 인과모형의 적합도 평가 결과 탐색적 모형으로서는 적합한 모형으로 확인되었다.
Abstract
Although there has been a stream of research on the benefits of electronic data interchange(EDI) systems during the last decades, possible interrelationships among those individual factors of EDI systems benefits have been largely ignored and thereby were not adequately examined. Furthermore, very few studies empirically investigated such interrelationships of EDI effectiveness factors even though a limited number of studies theoretically suggest that EDI benefits factors possibly have causal relationships each other in a hierarchical manner. In this regard, this research empirically investigates the existence of interrelationships of EDI benefit factors first, and the characteristics of their interrelationships. Finally, this research aims to develop a general causal relationships of EDI effectiveness factors. In order to identify factors constituting the effectiveness of EDI systems, this research identified a comprehensive set of items indicating EDI benefits based on the previous studies of EDI effectiveness, and collected data from the 202 companies which already experienced EDI systems implementation. The result of factor analysis derived out five factors constituting the effectiveness of EDI systems: strategic advantage, time reduction in business process, accuracy improvement, cost reduction, and improvement of business process quality.
