불확실성과 성과간의 관계에서 역동적 긴장의 매개효과

초록
통제시스템은 기업의 경영환경에 적응할 수 있도록 설계되어야 한다. 경영환경에 대하여 기업이 인식하는 불확실성의 정도는 통제시스템 뿐만 아니라 경영성과에도 영향을 미치게 된다. 그 관계 속에는 또 다른 변수인 역동적 긴장이 어떤 역할을 할 수 있을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 경영환경의 불확실성과 경영성과 간에 역동적 긴장이 매개변수로서의 역할을 하는지 살펴보고자 한다. Henri(2006)는 진단통제시스템과 상호작용통제시스템의 곱으로 역동적 긴장을 정의하였다. 본 연구의 연구목적을 달성하기 위하여 6개의 변수, 즉 불확실성의 정도, 진단통제, 상호작용통제, 역동적 긴장, 원가성과 그리고 유연성성과를 사용하였다. 연구결과 진단통제는 경영환경의 불확실성 정도가 성과에 미치는 영향을 감소시키는데 기여하지 못하였으며, 경영성과에 미치는 매개효과도 존재하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 상호작용통제는 불확실성이 성과에 미치는 영향을 감소시키는 데에는 크게 기여하고 있었지만 성과에 미치는 매개효과는 통계적으로 인정되지 않았다. 반면에 역동적 긴장은 불확실성이 성과에 미치는 영향을 감소시킬 뿐만 아니라 유연성성과에 미치는 매개효과도 발견할 수 있었다. 따라서 급격한 경영환경의 변화에 직면한 기업들은 진단통제 뿐만 아니라 상호작용통제를 구축함으로써 불확실성에 대한 인식을 완화시킬 수 있으며, 유연성성과의 개선도 기대할 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
Abstract
The control system should be designed to adapt company's management environment. The company's perception for uncertainty affect its control system as well as performance. However, there is intervention of other variable-dynamic tension. The purpose of this study is to examine the mediation effect of dynamic tension between environment uncertainty and performance. Henri(2006) defined dynamic tension as the product of diagnostic and interactive control system. This study used six variables-uncertainty, diagnostic control system, interactive control system, dynamic tension, cost and flexibility performance. The results suggest that diagnostic control system doesn't decrease the effect of uncertainty on performance. The mediation effect of diagnostic control system on performance was rejected. Also, the interactive control system didn't have its mediation effect. Dynamic tension have reduced the effect of uncertainty on flexible performance. The mediation effect of dynamic tension on performance was partially existed. Therefore, the companies facing high environmental uncertainty need to establish diagnostic control system as well as interactive control system.
