택시 전용차량 디자인 개발을 위한 인테리어 레이아웃 연구

Logistics are exponentially increasing and activity areas are rapidly expanding, creating new demand for transportation with better functions. As a result, there is a growing need for advanced vehicles, stimulating further research and development. As for the bus, one of the most frequently used modes of public transportation, different structures and designs have been adopted for different uses over time. In addition, a universal design concept for all passengers (including the disabled and the elderly) has been already developed and is about to be materialized. By contrast, the taxi has experienced few changes over the last half a century although it shares almost the same length of history and purpose as the bus. As a rule, they are using only slightly transformed sedans as taxi. It is ironical that the taxi service has made so little progress despite its high-class connotation which differentiates it from other public means of transportation. In order to produce preceding data for developing taxi vehicle design concepts, therefore, this paper analyzes automobiles used as taxi by comparing between at home and abroad. Ofall the other design factors, it focuses on interior design of taxi vehicles. This research will help the domestic auto industry develop new vehicles to meet the growing demand for a better taxi service in line with the advent of the new passenger transit industry which adopts customer-centered approaches.
