국내 관광여행사의 경영효율성에 관한 연구

초록
본 연구는 2001년부터 2005년까지 5년간 패널자료로 국내 13개의 외부감사 및 상장 관광여행사를 대상으로 DEA-CCR, BCC모형을 이용하여 정태적 효율성 변화와 효율성 결정요인을 다양한 방법으로 분석해 보았다. 분석과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.첫째, 국내 관광여행사들의 평균 기술효율성은 최적 프론티어 대비 년 평균 0.733으로 26.7%의 경영비효율성을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 이러한 경영비효율성은 규모비효율성에 원인이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 규모수익효과를 보더라도 규모수익체증이 56.92%로 아직도 국내 관광여행사들이 적정규모에 미흡함을 알 수 있다.둘째, 연도별로 효율성 값이 1로 나타난 관광여행사별 우선순위를 살펴본 결과 대체로 J-K-M-G사 순으로 나타났다.셋째, 효율성 결정요인 분석결과 국내 관광여행사들의 기술효율성을 증대시키기 위해서는 임직원당 매출액 증대 및 적정 유동자산을 제외한 투자자산의 확대로 투자를 증대시키고, 영업비를 감소시켜야 하는 것으로 나타났다
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to compare the efficiency of travel agency in Korea using DEA(Data Envelopment Analysis) model, which is non-parametric measurement method. To measure the efficiency, we used the panel data for five years from 2001 to 2005 for 13 travel agencies in Korea. The empirical results are summarized as follows;First, technical efficiency showed that approximately 26.7% of inefficiency existed on the korean travel agencies and such technical inefficiency arose from scale inefficiency rather than pure technjcal inefficiency. Second, the result of efficient prioritizing using modified DEA model was in order of top-topas-hanjin-sejoong travel agency.Third, the relation between technical DEA efficiency estimates on dependent variables and input variables on explanatory variables are explored using pooled GLS, tobit regression model, and static panel model(fixed effect and random effect model). The results of the analysis showed that they should reduce operating expenses and augment current assets, and sales to augment technology efficiency.Even though this study is not satisfactory and insufficiency to give managerial guideline to travel agencies, the results of this study will be helpful to further studies in this field.
