농촌지역 국제결혼 이민자여성의 이혼의사에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석

The purposes of this study are to examine how many international marriage migrant women have divorce intention from their husbands, which factors are significantly influencing their divorce intention, and to suggest some alternatives for preventing from their divorce. In order to complete these works, this study used the data which were composed of 608 international marriage migrant women who are residing in rural communities of Jeonbuk province. The data were collected in 2005 by Jeonbuk Development Institute. From data analysis, this study found that about one-third among 608 respondents of international marriage migrant women has the divorce intention, and that the important reasons of their divorce intention are the different characteristics between wife and husband, economic poverty and husband's disability, and the different life from the husband's promise before their marriage, etc. This study also found that the international marriage migrant women's divorce intention are significantly influenced by their ability of understanding Korean language and culture, nationality, the difference of husband's information between before and after marriage, satisfaction of married life, husband's unreasonable behaviors. Given those findings, this study suggest some supportive policies for the international marriage migrant families such as guarantee of transparent marriage process, the introduction of compulsory education system of Korean language and culture for international marriage migrant women, and the introduction and strengthening of consultation for the international marriage migrant families.
