한국사회 이주 무슬림 연구수행을 위한 모델 연구

Multi-cultural Korean society is the fastest growing debate in the Korean society. Today there are increasing numbers of foreign immigrants in Korean society. Since the new millenium, the debates on the multi-culture Korean society were put under the spotlight and public gaze. Although, numerous publications hit the bookshelves, there is a big lackness that deals on the muslim community or immigrant in Korea. Accordingly, after outlining the multi-cultral process of Korean society since 1980s, this article goes on to survey the development of muslim community in Korea and the different profiles on the Muslim communities today in Korean. By doing so, this article emphasizes the limitation of the previous works on the foreign immigrant issues in Korean society and gives the necessity of the new approach or paradigm to research on the muslim immigrants in Korea. Consequently, this article aims to suggest a certain research model to study on the Muslim immigrants in Korean society.
