본 연구는 한일 FTA의 경제적 효과에 있어 관광 산업에 대한 영향을 종합적으로 분석하고자 하였다. 관광부문에 있어서의 한일 FTA 의식조사를 하기 위하여 학계와 업계에서 1년 이상 근무한 경험이 있는 무역 및 관광 관련 143명의 전문가들과의 인터뷰를 통해 관광부문의 한일 FTA 의식조사에 적합한 측정항목을 정제하였다. 조사 결과 기존의 연구에서 관광산업에 대해 인지했던 것 이상으로 한일 FTA는 관광산업에 중요한 부문으로 작용하고 있다는 사실을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구를 통해 한일 FTA 관광산업 부문의 무역장벽을 체계적으로 파악할 수 있었고, 한일 관계의 특수성을 고려한 한일 FTA 연구를 통해 이론적으로 보다 정확한 관광산업과 연간된 한일 FTA 연구의 방향을 제시함으로써 한일 FTA 체결에 대비한 국가경쟁력을 확인해 볼 수 있었다. 또한 한일 FTA 체결 협상 시 새롭고도 중요한 안건으로 활용될 수 있으며 한일 FTA 체결에 대비하여 관광부문에 대한 정부의 정책방향으로 활용하여 FTA 체결에 따른 불확실한 정국에 보다 적절하게 대응할 수 있다는 시사점을 도출하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to conduct a comprehensive analysis of influence derived from economic effect of Free Trade Agreement between Korea and Japan on tourism industry. To carry out consciousness survey on Korean-Japan FTA in tourism sector, 143 professionals and experts from the areas concerned with foreign trade and tourism industry, who had more than one-year experience in the academic circle and the industry were selected, and through the interviews with them, the measurement items fit for Korea-Japan FTA consciousness survey were improved and refined.Results from the survey reveal the fact that Korea-Japan FTA has been a great deal of influence on the tourism industry more than what was perceived concerned with the tourism industry in the existing research works, and through this research, it was able to figure out the trade barriers in tourism sector in connection with Korea-Japan FTA in a systematic manner. Also, through the study of Korea-Japan FTA having considered characteristics of relationships between Korea and Japan, we could get a clear picture of national competitiveness in order to be ready for completion of Koran-Japan Free Trade Agreement by proposing a more desirable direction in theoretical aspect with regard to researches about Korea-Japan FTA. In addition, these can be used as an important and new agenda when negotiating in order to get conclusion of Korea-Japan FTA. They’re also used as the direction or guideline in establishing the government policy for the tourism sector to get ready for the conclusion of Korea-Japan FTA. It would help the government authority respond to uncertain political situation more appropriately according to finalization of Free Trade Agreement between the two nations.
