A Study on the Laws on the Electronic Commerce in China

China's e-Commerce is going to be a boom owing to IT development and increasing use of Internet. China will be among the world's largest e-Commerce market. In spite of the forecast of tremendous boom, a number of factors have burdened the development of e-Commerce in China until now. Before 2005, no national e-Commerce law has been enacted in China to either mandate or streamline the utilization of more safe electronic payment systems. China implemented the Electronic Signature Act on April 1, 2005 which was enacted and disseminated on August 28, 2004. This paper deals with the e-Commerce and IT Laws, in particular, Electronic Signature Law. The purpose of this paper contributes to streamline the use of electronic signature by enhancing the understanding of Electronic Signature Law in China.
