The purpose of this study was to investigate whether residents' perceived impacts, benefit, and support for casino development are related to their community attachment in the Kangwon Land gaming communities. Furthermore, this study also examined relationship between residents' community attachment and their demographic variables. To this end, an on-site survey was conducted to collect the data in the gaming communities. A factor analysis was implemented to delineate underlying dimensions of casino impacts, benefit, and support as well as community attachment. Then, a regression analysis was implemented to examine the effect of community attachment on casino impacts, benefit, and support level. The results of this study indicate that the community attachment had an effect on positive and negative social impacts, benefits, and support level. The findings imply that highly attached residents were likely to perceive social impact, benefits and support more positively than less attached individuals. Furthermore, the community attachment appeared to be related to length of residency and age.
