초록
기존의 학문 분야가 합쳐져서 새로운 학문 분야가 생겨나고 있다. 그리고 새로운 과학발전, 혹은 기술혁신으로 인해 새로운 첨단 분야가 생겨나고 있다. 이것은 디자인방법(Design Methods) 역시 새로운 학문과 기술발달에 따라 진화해야 함을 시사한다.이 연구는 디자인방법의 양극을 강조하고 있다. 디자인 방법의 한쪽 끝에는 방법론(methodology)의 기본원리와 법칙, 그리고 디자인 패러다임이 창출되는 기초연구가 있고, 다른 끝에는 기술혁신과 그에 따른 사용자의 경험(experience)에 중점(focus)을 두고 디자인방법론의 진화(evolution)를 실험할 수 있는 응용(practice) 연구가 있다. 기본적으로 전통적 HCI 개발보다 다른 견해를 가짐으로써 인터랙티브 생산물(interactive products)들이 사용자의 정체성(identity) 구성과정에서 어떻게 더욱 능동적인 역할을 하는가와 그러한 과정 자체가 사용자에게 더욱 명확해지도록 어떻게 디자인을 해야 할지를 탐구한다.우리는 과학적인 방법과 디자인 방법의 교차점에 중점을 두고, 디지털-자아(digital self)의 창조와 유지에 관련된 활동들을 자아 구성 목표(goals of identity construction)에 잘 정렬(aligning)시킴으로써 변화하는 경험의 질적 가치(quality)를 더 향상시킬 수 있다는 가설(hypothesize)을 세운다.
Abstract
A new variety of academic discipline is cultivated by combining existing fields. Scientific discoveries, technological improvements set the trend of the new era.This research emphasizes on two distinct types on design methods. On one side, basic research defines design principles and paradigms. On the other end, practical research focuses on users' experience led by evolution in method from technological improvements. Taking a step further towards the practical design method from usual HCI methodology, we explored how interactive products play vital role in constructing one's identity, and how design should address these tasks.We hypothesize the quality of identity constructing experiment is enhanced by aligning activities on maintaining and creating digital self to the goals of identity construction with a focus on the intersection of scientific methods and design methods.
