감사위원회 및 이사회 특성이 비감사보수에 미치는 영향

초록
최근 동일 감사인의 피감사회사에 대한 외부감사 이외의 비감사서비스를 제공하는 경우 감사인의 독립성에 영향을 미치는지에 대한 관심이 점차 증대되고 있다. 그리고 동일 감사인에 의한 비감사서비스가 감사인의 독립성과의 관계를 검증한 선행연구들은 일관된 결과를 제시하지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구의 목적은 감사위원회 및 이사회 특성이 동일 감사인의 비감사서비스에 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 분석을 위하여 2001년부터 2005년까지의 기간 동안 거래소 상장기업을 표본으로 이용하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 감사위원회를 설치한 기업과 그렇지 않은 기업에 대한 비감사서비스는 5% 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 감사위원회를 설치한 기업의 비감사서비스의 수준이 그렇지 않은 기업에 비해 보다 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 감사위원회의 특성은 동일 감사인이 제공하는 비감사서비스의 수준과 관련이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 이사회 특성 중 독립성은 5% 유의수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 이사회의 독립성이 높을수록 비감사서비스의 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The interest of association between audit committee, board of director characteristics and non-audit service and non-audit fee is increasing gradually in recent. Issues related to non-audit service fees have been of concern to practitioner, regulators and academics for a number of years. The prior research that investigated relation between auditor independence and non-audit service not found consistent empirical results. This paper investigates the relation adoption of audit committee and audit committee, board of director characteristics and non-audit service. The sample was selected from Korean Stock Change for the period 2001-2005. The empirical results of this paper are summarized as follows:First, the adoption of audit committee significantly decreased non-audit service fees. Second, no significant difference was found between auditor characteristics and non-audit fees. Third, empirical result indicates that found significant difference between independence of board of director characteristics and non-audit service fees. That is, independence of characteristics of board of director significantly decreased non-audit service fees.
