국내기업과 외국기업간 합작제휴시 상호작용의 질이 관계의 질에 미치는 영향

본 연구에서는 기업 간 관계로서 국제합작 파트너 간 상호작용의 질이 관계의 질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 상호작용의 질과 관계의 질 간에 유의한 상관성이 있다고 보았으며, 나아가서 관계의 질이 파트너 간 관계만족에 유의한 영향을 미칠 것이라 보았다. 또한 이러한 ‘상호작용의 질-관계의 질-관계만족도’ 간의 메커니즘은 파트너간 힘이 비대칭일 경우보다 대칭일 경우 더 유의할 것으로 예상하였다. 국내기업과 외국기업 간에 성사된 94건의 합작관계를 분석한 결과, 예상했던 대로 공정성과 유연성으로 대변되는 파트너 간 상호작용의 질이 신뢰․몰입으로 대변되는 관계의 질에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 나아가서 신뢰․몰입 형성이 파트너 간 관계만족에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 예상했던 대로 합작 파트너 간 힘의 대칭에 기반한 공동경영인 경우 힘의 비대칭에 기반한 일방 지배경영인 경우보다 ‘상호작용의 질-관계의 질-관계만족도’ 간의 적합성이 더 높은 것으로 나타났지만 통계적으로는 유의하지 않았다. 이러한 연구결과는 합작관계 관리에 매우 유의한 시사점을 제시한다
Abstract
This study examined the influences of interaction quality on relation quality in the case of international joint venture alliance. More specially, a positive relationship is expected between interaction quality and relation quality. In addition, this positive relationship is expected to be more valid in the case of power symmetry between partners. Based on the analysis of 94 cases of joint ventures formed by Korean firms and foreign firms, the positive relationship was found between interaction quality and relation quality. In addition, even though the positive relationship was shown to be more valid in power symmetry than in power asymmetry, but shown to be insignificant statistically. These findings provide an implication for the successful management of international joint ventures that the interaction quality such as fairness and flexibility is a precondition of generating trust and commitment as relational quality, which in turn lead to relationship satisfaction between partners. Therefore, managers should keep in mind the positive association between interaction quality and relation quality in the management of international joint ventures.
