초록
This study investigates whether the determinants of organizational commitment and satisfaction would converge or diverge among Korean, Thailand and Philippines employees. Various precedents such as demographics, task related variables, formalization, fairness, compensation, expectation to be met, participation in decision making and voluntary contribution were used to analyze the commitment and satisfaction of Korean, Thai, and Philippines employees. Results show that there are strong evidences for divergence among the three nationalities. Even Thailand and Philippines which are the Southeast Asian countries also show international differences in explaining commitment and satisfaction. The research suggests that differentiating human resources development strategies incorporating cultural characteristics of local employees would be necessary even for same Asian countries.
