벤처기업의 윤리경영에 관한 탐색적 연구:문화적 접근법을 중심으로

The purpose of this study is to investigate business ethics in venture firms called ‘uncharted area of business ethics’ because there had hardly been discussed about it. I investigate to compare the ethical environments of large companies and small and medium venture firms. And then this paper shows severe differences in organizational slack, capabilities, and ethical management between major firms and small and medium venture enterprises. I suggested the major reasons of differences were that compared with larger, more established business, entrepreneurial firms were more vulnerable to the liability of newness and smallness. This paper suggested three stages of venture development based on the cultural approach and venture developmental framework. At start-up stage, there had less formal structure and exposed the liability of newness and then key factors was the strong ethical leadership and integration of business strategy and business ethics. The development stage established implicit (informal) and explicit (formal) ethical structures. At mature stage of venture business, I suggested the ethical mentoring system and development of ethical sensitivity of employees which was required of the flexibility in ethical management. Finally some public policy and practical implementations were derived.
