본 논문의 목적은 첫째, BSC 커뮤니케이션과 조직학습 사이에서 흡수능력 및 신뢰의 조절역할을 확인하는 것이며, 둘째, BSC 커뮤니케이션과 기업성과에서 조직학습의 매개역할을 확인하는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 먼저 조직학습을 위한 효과적인 커뮤니케이션, 흡수능력 그리고 신뢰에 대한 속성을 파악하기 위해 BSC 커뮤니케이션, 흡수능력, 신뢰 그리고 조직학습에 대한 문헌들을 검토하였다. 그 다음 연구모형, 핵심변수들 그리고 4개의 가설을 제시하고 PLS로 검정하였다. 분석을 위한 자료는 135개 조직(사기업 78개와 공기업 57개)의 BSC 추진자 및 담당자들로부터 수집하였다. 연구결과 첫째, BSC 커뮤니케이션과 조직학습 간의 관계에서 흡수능력 및 신뢰는 유의적인 조절역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타났다(가설 H1, H2 그리고 H3가 지지됨). 그러나 조직유형으로 구분하여 분석한 결과 흡수능력과 신뢰는 통계적으로 유의적인 조절역할을 수행하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 조직학습은 기업성과에 대해 유의적인 양(+)의 역할을 수행하는 것으로 나타났다(가설 H4 지지됨). 또한 BSC 커뮤니케이션과 기업성과에 있어서 조직학습이 매개역할을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결론에는 연구의 요약, 이론적 공헌, 한계점을 논의하였으며 미래연구에 대한 제안을 하였다.
Abstract
The purpose of the present study was to examine (1) the role of absorptive capacity and trust in mediating between BSC communication and organizational learning and (2) organizational learning’s mediation between BSC communication and firm performance. In this paper, first, past studies on BSC communication, absorptive capacity, trust and organizational learning that identify the attributes of effective communication, absorptive capacity and trust in organizational learning are reviewed. Second, a research model, key variables, and four hypotheses tested by PLS (partial least squares) are presented. The data was collected from BSC champions and managers of 135 organizations (78 profit organizations and 57 non-profit organizations) in Korea. The results indicate, first, that absorptive capacity and trust play a significantly positive role in moderating the relationship between BSC communication and organizational learning (H1, H2 and H3 supported). However, the organization type (profit organization or non-profit organization) has no effect on organizational learning. Second, organizational learning has an effect on firm performance (H4 supported). Also, organizational learning play a significantly positive role in mediating the relationship between BSC communication and firm performance. The theoretical contributions, limitations, as well as future research directions are discussed at the end of the paper.
