OVA-Pathophysiological Effects of M1(Eucalytus, Lemon, Lavender) Inhalation on Asthma Induced in BALF

These studies were investigated the effects of M1 on cytokines regulation in association with bronchial asthma immune-cell related cytokines and Immunoglobin E (IgE) production and histological change in OVA-induced asthma mouse model. 1. Lung weight of the mice group treated with M1 decreased significantly compared with that of control group. 2. Total cells in lung, total leukocytes in BALF, and eosinophils in BALF of the mice group treated with M1 decreased significantly compared with those of control group. 3. The concentration of IL-13, IgE, IL-4, IL-5, IFN-γ in BALF of the mice group treated with M1 decreased significantly compared with that of control group. 4. The administration of M1 relatively reduced narrowness of bronchioloalv- eolar, adema around bronchovascular, invasion of inflammatory cells, and proliferation of smooth muscle as compared to the control group. Furthermore, the administration of M1 maintained the size of alveolar space in a dose dependent manner as compared to the control group. These results suggest that M1 has anti-asthma and anti-allergy effects. In addition to, M1 may be useful treatment of asthma based on the further studies about the individual efficacy search of the components of the adding of variety drugs to M1 inhalation.
