외국인직접투자의 특성에 따른 투자유인책 선호도와 환경적 요인 고려도 차이에 관한 연구

As the world economy becomes globalized, many countries provide various incentives to attract foreign direct investment. Korea has been also trying to attract foreign direct investment after the Korean economic crisis by means of various regulation relaxation, expansion of investment incentives, and maintenance of the investment support agency. However, the effectiveness of the various systems which were prepared under the special situation where the crisis had to be overcome should be checked. And she must provide the investment incentives which are suitable for investment characteristics rather than providing comprehensive incentives. In this study, managers of foreign firms with operations in Korea evaluated the attractiveness of thirteen investment incentives and nine environmental conditions. T-test was employed to determine whether incentive preferences and consideration of environmental conditions were a function of investment characteristics. The results indicate that incentive preferences depend on the market orientation, type of investment, type of establishment, size of labor force, and year of investment and that consideration of environmental conditions depends on the market orientation, type of investment, type of establishment, type of product, size of labor force, and year of investment. These results indicate that the Korean government is advised to provide the incentives deemed important by investors and to make environmental conditions favorable to them.
