Recently, Universities have taken much more active interest in intellectual property, asserting ownership rights and consequently playing a more active role in commercialization of their intellectual property. Good intellectual property management is important, not only because of the financially returns, but because it also contributes to other key university aims and objectives, such as the generation, application and transfer of knowledge. Through their research and knowledge transfer activities generate and apply new knowledge to enhance economic prosperity and quality of life. Their success in this regard depends increasingly on the effective management of intellectual property generated through their various activities, for which they need to have appropriate strategies and policies in place. The author review the reality of universities intellectual property management and deduce the evaluation index for objective evaluation. The author expect this spadework become a basic viewpoint for an in-depth study. Universities are committed to ensuring that researchers within institutions can access expert advice, and that those same experts encourage researchers to explore the potential for exploitation of research outcomes.
