The Effects of Self-Efficacy on Job Satisfaction: Focused on Franchise Restaurant Managers

The purpose of this research is to examine any relationship between self-efficacy and job satisfaction for franchise restaurant managers. Respondents in this research were managers in major franchise restaurants in Seoul and its suburbs during a two-month period from August 10th to September 10th, 2008. As a result of analyzing the data of 263 participants, we obtained three factors as self-efficacy: self-competency, self-confident, and propulsion. Significant 4 factors of job satisfaction are work, pay, human relation and promotion. Canonical correlation indicated there is a positive relationship between self-efficacy and job satisfaction. The results suggest franchise restaurant management should manage self-efficacy as an important instrument in enhancing job satisfaction.
