디자인의 학제적 조건에 관한 연구

The element of design is a rule to keep something important in advance before design occurs. In the field of school education and a company it has been functioned as a kind of law to designers for their achievement of good design. And the element has been helpful for designers who do not know what is the best way to perform their works and how they have faced with the design problems. So it cannot be denied that the element of design till now has done a lot of things for design education of the school and the company. But I think it is hard to keep even till now the element as a constant rule for design achievement because it is too outdated for designers to use. Design theorists made several things to keep as an element of design after modern industrial periods of 19th century, but now, in the 21th century, they are not suitable to apply because the element has to be concerned with all the scientific technologies and meet their application of complicated lots of knowledges. It means new element has to be needed to all the school education and the company. So I divided the element into two kinds of new elements ; one is called ‘general element of design’, the other ‘multidisciplinary element of design’. The former is outdated one until now, the latter up-to-date one with which all the scientific technologies and the complicated lots of knowledges are concerned. Today's field of study is not easy to keep development without mutual contact with others' field. As a field of study is for human being in the end, so is design. At this juncture, here I tried to suggest a ‘multidisciplinary element of design’ as a new basis for the purpose of design theory.
