The Effect of Mentoring Functions on Organizational Efficiencyin Foodservice Businesses:Focused on the Mediating Effect of Self-Leadership

This study was to examine the effect of the mentoring function on organizational effectiveness by mediating effect of self-leadership. To analyze this purpose, the data were collected from two hundred fifty employees of family restaurant which is implementing mentoring function program in Seoul and Kyonggi from May 1st to May 30th of 2008. The results of this study were as follows. The mentoring function of foodservice company has a positive effect on self-leadership, job satisfaction of organizational effectiveness, and organizational commitment but the mentoring function of foodservice company has a negative effect on turnover intention. Self-leadership has a positive effect on job satisfaction of organizational effectiveness and organizational commitment but self-leadership has a negative effect on turnover intention. Therefore, this study suggests that mentoring function has to be enhanced and offered by the level of self-leadership because mentoring function has a positive effect on organizational effectiveness of foodservice company employees.
