The purpose of this study is to suggest the particular viewpoint for the principle of the architectural form and the design process in Le Corbusier's architectural form. This study analyzes the design process of the Villa Carthage which is the third composition of Le Corbusier's ‘Four Compositions’ of 1929. The method of analysis on the study is the comparison of the state of architectural conditions including client's demands with Le Corbusier's drawings and sketches which arranged design process. From the analysis we have found the design process and formal principle of Villa Carthage. From the design process of Villa Carthage we have realized that Le Corbusier's architectural form is made by the process of conflict, conflate, change and superimpose in each form and social condition. After all, through Le Corbusier's architectural principle of form, we have concluded that the architecture is concreted not only by social and functional demands but by the inherent character and principle of the architectural form.
