초록
융합기술 중 최근 가장 활발히 논의되고 있는 것 중의 하나가 바로 방송과 통신의 융합이다. 본 연구에서는 각국이 미래 경쟁력 확보를 위하여 수행하고 있는 정보통신전략을 살펴보고 방송통신융합과 관련된 각국의 미래생활 수요와 이를 충족시킬 수 있는 방통융합 기술에 대하여 간략하게 살펴본다. 그리고 주요국에서 핵심적으로 추진되고 있는 융 합네트워크 기술에 대한 특허분석을 통하여 관련 분야의 기술개발현황과 각국의 경쟁력을 비교하여 보았다. 연구결과 각 국은 네트워크의 중요성을 인식하고 이의 개발에 많은 예산을 투입하고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 특허분석 결과 나노 ICT 네트워크와 바이오 ICT 네트워크의 경우 그 특허출원건수가 매년 증가하고 있어, 각 국가가 관련 기술 개발에 역량을 집중하고 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다. 우리나라의 경우는 현재 중장기 차세대 방통융합전략을 마련 중이며 융합네트워크 분야에 대한 특허분석의 경우 선진국가와는 어느 정도의 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 우리가 장기적인 원천기술 개발에 대한 적극적인 대응을 필요로 한다는 것을 강하게 시사해 준다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
The convergence of broadcasting and telecommunication is one of the convergence technologies that are currently the subject of numerous studies. In this study, future demand for convergence between broadcasting and telecommunication and the specific technologies that will satisfy that demand are briefly discussed, along with information communication strategies with the potential to ensure the future competitive power of various countries. The competitive power and technological development status of various countries were compared from the perspective of patent. Many countries are well aware of the importance of such networks and the corresponding budgets. The trend towards an increase in patent applications for nano-ICT and bio-ICT networks indicates that many countries are investing their capabilities in these areas. In Korea, which is developing a long-term strategy for the next-generation convergence network, analysis of the patents relating to convergence networks showed significant differences with those of other advanced countries. As such, it is necessary to provide stronger support for the development of long-term, source technologies.
