최근 서비스부문에서도 효율성증진 및 경쟁력 제고를 위한 노력의 일환으로 6시그마 경영혁신활동을 전개하는 기업들이 늘어나는 추세이다. 그런데 서비스부문은 제조업과 다른 특성을 지니므로 제조업 분야에 적합하게 개발되어온 전통적인 6시그마 전개방식을 서비스분야에 적용하는 과정에 여러 가지 어려움이 제기되고 있다. 특히 DMAIC 로드맵을 적용할 수 있는 기존의 프로세스의 개선활동보다, DFSS를 적용하여 새로운 서비스 프로세스나 상품을 개발하는 과정에서 많은 과제들이 제기되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 서비스부분의 프로세스 및 상품개발과정에 효과적으로 적용할 수 있는 DFSS/S 체계의 재정립 방안을 논의하고 그 적용 사례를 소개하고자 한다. DFSS/S 구조 재정립에서는 DFSS 로드맵의 조정·보완, 고객 분석 및 CTQ(Y) 도출, 컨셉 개발을 위한 아이디어 도출 및 평가, 그리고 Y-y-X 연계도를 통한 효율적인 프로세스 설계방안 등이 기술되며, 이러한 개념적 구조를 서비스 상품의 개발에 적용한 기업사례를 다루고 있다.
Abstract
Originally developed and widely implemented in the manufacturing area, six sigma approaches have increasingly been adopted in service operations in recent years. DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), successfully used in the manufacturing industry, is considered an effective procedure in improving the quality of existing products or processes in the service sector. However, there have been some practical issues concerning the use of DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) for developing new service products or processes. This study deals with these DFSS issues in service operations and suggests a revised framework as a solution, namely DFSS/S (DFSS-Service), that can be applied effectively in service operations. It also describes a real case implemented at the company "K" in Korea to show the practical applicability of the proposed DFSS/S methodology in actual business situations.
