공공디자인을 위한 자전거 교통안전 표지 디자인 연구

Nowadays, riding bicycles has been arising as a hot issue aligning with environment-friendly trend. As Korean’s cognition has changed overtime, justification and necessity of the use of bicycle increased more than any other time. To establish Korea as bicycle-friendly country, issues in different sectors should be improved. This research, which focuses on bicycle’s traffic safety sign as a method of communication as part of public design category, was conducted by visiting Korea, Japan and five developed bicycle riding European countries including Luxemburg, Italy, France, England and Swiss; surveying professional designer group; and analyzing the survey result to improve bicycle’s traffic safety sign that are expanding to self-governed cities to be the fundamental of Korea’s public design growth. Bicycle usage rate is used as a standard to measure the quality of life in that city. Once the use of bicycle is settled, the city will become healthier. Public design that suits the status of Korea, powerful design state, should be introduced more and should be able to respond to latter requests such as maintenance, management and repair. More over, public morale, order and citizen’s ethic should be prioritized to become the proper environment-friendly city utilizing bicycle use.
