노인들의 평생교육 참여에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 노인들의 평생교육 프로그램 참여동기와 참여 저해요인, 교육요구를 분석하는 것이다. 연구 결과 노인들의 평생교육 프로그램 참여 동기는 인간관계에 도움, 일상생활의 스트레스 해소, 삶의 활력을 위해 순으로 나타났다. 평생교육 프로그램 참여 저해요인에 대해 건강의 문제, 교육정보를 알지 못하여서, 교육의 필요성을 느끼지 못해서, 배우기에는 나이가 많아서, 시간이 없거나 업무가 많이 바빠서, 교육기관의 거리가 멀어서, 원하는 프로그램이 없어서, 교육비가 부담되어, 배우고자 하는 용기가 나지 않아서, 원하는 전문강사가 없어서, 가족 부양 책임, 가족의 협조 부족, 배우는 것 자체가 싫어서, 문해 능력 부족순으로 나타났다. 노인들의 향후 평생교육 기관 프로그램 참여 욕구는 대체적으로 참여의사가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 연령이 높을수록 향후 평생교육 프로그램 참여 욕구가 높아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 또한, 연간 총 가구 소득이 높을수록 향후 평생교육 프로그램의 참여욕구가 증가하며, 배우자가 있는 경우가 배우자가 없는 경우보다 향후 노인의 평생교육 프로그램 참여욕구가 높은 것을 확인하였다. 노인들이 평생교육 프로그램에 대해 참여 희망하는 분야는 컴퓨터 및 외국어 관련 교육, 휴대폰 다루기 등 기본 정보 관련 교육, 건강 및 스포츠 관련 교육이 순으로 나타났다. 따라서 앞으로의 노인들을 대상으로 하는 평생교육 프로그램은 건강과 스포츠뿐만 아니라 컴퓨터․외국어 관련, 휴대폰 다루기 등 기본 정보 관련 내용들이 확대되어야 할 것이다.
Abstract
This study is targeting to analyze on the participation motivation in lifelong education of older adult, the obstructing factors in participation and demands for education. The study showed its major results as below First, the old peoples' participation in lifelong education were carried on by the motivation in the order of getting helped with human relations(16.4%)which is the highest level, being free from the stress given by daily life (15.4%), regaining their vigour. Second, in the obstruction factors against participation in lifelong education program are some health problems, lack of feeling the necessary of the education, old age, time issue, the instance of institute, etc. Accordingly, the biggest obstruction factors against the participation of the aged in lifelong education turned out to be the physical weaknesses, health problems. The fields that the aged wanted to join in the lifelong education were computer & foreign languages which was the highest level. And the basic information related education such as handling cellular phone, health & sports related education were followed.
