CAS 시스템 기반의 디자인 패러다임에 관한 연구 -자동차 디자인 분야를 중심으로-

The purposes of this paper are to review the recent trends of Computer Aided Styling (CAS)-based technology and design optimization and to research the efficient application of the technology and design optimization to the development of vehicle design. The purposes are the results of recognizing the importance of modeling completion and the enhancement of quality level in the processes of vehicle design. This paper ranges from the growth and changes of the CAS system in each period to the application of the system, the current status of building infrastructures, and system components for digital design. Changes in the characteristics of the vehicle development process, which have occurred due to the introduction of digital technology, are analyzed in each process. A proposal for actual work about the value of optimization is included to connect the creativity of design to digital processes. As a method for this paper, internet-based domestic and overseas information database searches, trend analyses data and other literatures including publications and books were examined. To research on the system components necessary for digital design performances and changed properties of car design development processes, overseas periodicals and statistical data from digital system operation industry were considered. As the details and results of this paper, the direction of efficient optimization for applying design to the design process of CAS-based technology is proposed. Proposals for the alternative of the convergent application value are provided by reviewing value in terms of cost-effectiveness and the enhancement of design value.
