법무해설원을 통한 북한의 법교육

This paper aims to study how North Korea, a revolutionist nation, is educating law to members of the national community, and identify the characteristics of the law-related education of North Korea. North Korea shows a strong confidence on legal logics for international relations and diplomacy with South Korea, based on its government-driven systematic law education. In particular, North Korea backs up their claims with international laws in case of conflicts with the US over its nuclear issues. Its strong confidence based on its law has been enabled through systematic law-related education on all members of its national community. There are judicial affairs explainers(bŏpmuhaesŏlwon) in every state institution, enterprise and social cooperative organizations in North Korea, and they play a central role in law-related education of North Korea. They do not just educate law but monitor compliance and improve productivity of citizens. They engage in the overall lives of the organization members in charge, and encourage them to observe the rules of a revolutionist nation including laws. From the perspective of western law-related education, nothing is common between law-related education of the western world and that of North Korea, except the fact that North Korea educates law to general members of its national community. Although North Korea takes diverse approaches to law-related education, the logic behind its law-related education is always same.
