초록
In this article, I have tried to present the foundation for social responsibility of the Church, especially focused upon Reformed theology. For this, I have compared the Reformed perspective with the evangelical perspective. Through the comparison, I have found out that while evangelical theology approaches to the matter of social responsibility from the Christo-centric perspective without the emphasis upon the creation, Reformed theology approaches to the matter from the redemption by Christ Jesus with the concept that redemption is the recapitulation of creation. As a result, Reformed theology has more concrete orientations for the social responsibility than evangelical theology has. And then I have suggested what is the concrete contents of the concept that redemption is the recapitulation of creation. That is the creation ordinances established in the time of creating of the world. In spite of corruption, creation ordinances are still remained, and thus redemption means that creation ordinances must be discovered and kept in every sphere of our life. In this way, the sovereignty of God the Creator and God the Redeemer is manifested in every sphere of our life, namely, in the Sunday worship as well as in ordinary life. This is the reason why the church must work out the responsibility for the world.
