초록
본 연구의 목적은 2008년 세계적 경제 위기에 처해있는 대한민국 서울의 특1급 호텔의 경영성과 평가를 위한 핵심성과 평가 지표(Key Performance Indicator ; 이하에서는 KPI로 표기)를 개발함으로써 실질적인 호텔 경영에 도움을 주고자 하였다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해, 서울시내 특1급 호텔에 8년 이상 근무한 전문가를 대상으로 델파이 3라운드 조사를 통하여 관점별 KPI를 개발하였다. 개발된 KPI는 현재 서울시내 특 1급 호텔이 잘 해야 할 방향을 설정하고 미래를 위해 무엇을 준비해야 할 것인가에 대한 방향을 설정할 수 있고, 자본을 집중해야할 항목을 구체적으로 제시하는 것에 활용할 수 있다. 또한, 호텔의 현재 가치와 미래 가치를 올바르게 판단할 수 있도록 하여, 호텔을 인수하거나 합병할 때 정확한 가치 기준으로 사용 될 수 있을 것이다. 하지만, 본 연구는 본 연구에서는 서울 시내 특 1급 호텔의 전략과 BSC의 관점별 영향관계에 대한 실증분석이 없었기 때문에 각각의 KPI는 의미가 있지만, KPI가 의미하는 방향성에 대해서는 한계가 있다고 할 수 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to provide practical implications for the management of hotels by developing Key Performance Indicator (refered to herein as a K.P.I.) which is to measure the performance of management of 5-star hotels in Seoul, Korea that are suffering worldwide economic crisis in 2008. For this study, researchers developed K.P.I. in different perspectives by conducting Delphi-3round test with industry professionals who have more than 8 year job experience at 5star hotels located in downtown area of Seoul. K.P.I that was developed as a result of this reseach will be able to help super deluxe hotel in Seoul to set a concrete direction to focus on in preparing for the future economic environment, and to utilize the K.P.I in indicating area into where they must concentrate their capital. In addition, the K.P.I will help hotel executives to clearly evaluate current and future value of existing hotels, thus providing accurate standard in M&A. However, this research has a limitation in proving directions of K.P.I. despite the it’s own meaning because there was no actual proof of relationship between 5star hotels’ strategies in Seoul and interrelation among perspectives of B.S.C.
