A Study on the Antecedents of the Perception of an Ethical Problem

The purpose of this study is to explore not only the perception of the ethical problems (PEP) of public administrators but also their antecedents. Independentvariables used in this study are school socialization, organizational socialization, public service motives, religious activities, and family socialization. The article concludes that public service motives, organizational socialization, and family socialization are statistically positively associated with the perception of ethical problems. Family socialization is the primary factor that affects the perception of ethical problems and then public service motives and organizational socialization are order.
