초록

The purpose of this research was to (1) propose and test a structural model that outlines the process by which tourists develop the intention to revisit certain destinations and (2) examine the moderating role of involvement in the formation of revisit intention. Based on a review of recent literature, four key constructs that have direct/indirect impact on tourist revisit intention were identified. To identify how each of these constructs influence revisit intention, a structural model was developed based on theoretical background. Through EFA and CFA, a measurement scale was developed. The structural model developed in this paper was tested in a study that involved 464 tourists. Data analysis indicates that: (1) destination image influences tourist revisit intention, however that impact is mediated by trip satisfaction; (2) travel motivation is a key determinant of destination image formation; and (3) the process by which tourists develop revisit intention is moderated by involvement. Possible interpretations and managerial implications are suggested.
