도시 광장의 감성적 디자인 특성에 관한 연구

Recently, cities has changed their concept as the center of peoples' lives. The squares, sometimes seen as a livingroom for the people living in a city, needs to be designed as a sensible space that can create a relation between the space and people and cause mutual interaction with space and stimulate a sensible response. Therefore, the objective of this paper is to take a look into the sensible features that are reflected in city squares in modern times. The results are as follows: First of all, the size of the square should consider the extent of a person's senses. As for the visual stimulus for long distance, it provides a dynamic geometric shape or sharp contrast of colors. For the short distance, it provides detailed stimulus through touch, the feel of materials, sound, etc. by utilizing various materials. Second, it provides various devices to accommodate essential activities, optional activities, and social activities. Or, it takes an ambiguous functional shape to enable those actions realized in connection, which has advantage to induce the voluntary actions from people. Third, it tries to attract interest through the change and contrast between conflicting elements, and enables to feel time in the space, thereby creating a continuous relation with space.
