디자인에 있어 지속가능성의 의미와 빅터 파파넥 디자인 사상의 영향 분석

This article is designed to explore the meaning of sustainability, and to analyze the role and influence of designer Victor Papanek upon developing and expanding for sustainable design. Main scopes of this article are formed with consideration about general idea and definition of sustainability and link between design and sustainability, and analyses of the ideology and activity of Victor Papanek, design approach, and application of the Papanek's ideology for sustainable design, through all these finally reach to the conclusion. The main method of this article is to review and analyze the data from Internet D/B in domestic and abroad, and variety of literatures including thesis, books, periodicals and the other publications. The summary of contents and results of this article represents that the meaning of sustainability in design would be the suggestion for conversion of vision and recognition to making sustainable environment and society by the people who try to get involving to solve problems came from human subsistence method face-to-face with the nature and neighbors together. The design ideology of Papanek has an effect upon the ethical responsibility of designers, consumer's expanded concern to the 'sustainable design', and company's attitude change about product development, marketing, and management system. It helps to develop diversity design products continuously for the third country, poor, and alienation, and this tendency will be expanded. The data on this paper can be used to support and revitalize Korean sustainable design products and industries.
