A study on 3D Information Visualization regarding to its design

The development of effective displays for visualizing an enormous amount of unperceptible information is an important research field in computer science. However, the visualization of information being produced by this process can be difficult to read or visually unattractive. Therefore this paper analyzes 3D information visualization regarding to its design, and attempts to offer an base for new directions in designing it. Firstly, metaphors are used mainly to help users' understanding of the data and interface, but personal differences should be more considered. Secondly, there are more difficulties in navigation in 3D world than 2D, so design for easy navigation should be supplemented. Thirdly, users could take advantage of special navigation functions, such as teleportation and warping, but this could cause sudden loss of direction, so it requires a rational implement to understand the sudden shift in a visual sense.
