재생디자인을 활용한 한옥의 재구축 디자인 방법에 관한 연구

최근 정부의 지원과 전통문화의 재조명을 통한 현대적 가치의 재발견이 다양한 분야에서 전개되어지면서 한옥 또한 주된 관심의 대상으로 주목받고 있다. 이러한 한옥을 바라보는 다양한 관점들 중 기존의 문화재 보존이라는 소극적인 접근이 아닌 한옥이라는 건축공간이 현대사회에 적합한 형태와 기능을 담아낼 수 있도록 하는 새로운 공간디자인적 접근의 필요성이 높아지고 있다. 이러한 시대적 패러다임을 반영한 한옥의 새로운 공간디자인 방법론 중 본 연구에서는 ‘재생디자인’이라는 관점에서 접근함을 그 목적으로 한다. 21세기에 들어오면서 유럽과 일본 등을 중심으로 활발한 논의와 실행이 이루어지고 있는 재생디자인은 사용하지 않는 건물이나 효율성이 떨어지는 건물에 새로운 이용목적과 방법을 적용하여 건물의 계속적인 활용(adaptive use)을 가능케하는 하드웨어적인 부분에서의 디자인 수법이라고 할 수 있다. 그러한 의미로 역사적, 건축적, 공간적으로 매우 중요한 건축 활동이라고 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 재생디자인의 방법적 특성에 입각하여 크게 재생의 유형을 맥락적 재생과 이미지적 재생으로 분류하고 기존의 근대 건축물들의 재생 사례의 방법적 분석을 통해 각각의 사례에서 사용되어진 공간적, 구조적, 재료적, 의장적인 세부수법들을 도출하여 구체적인 재생디자인의 수법들을 분석하였다. 여기서 얻어진 디자인 수법들을 기반으로 최근에 이루어진 한옥들의 재생 사례를 대상으로 한옥이 갖는 건축적, 공간적 특성들이 어떠한 수법을 통해 재구축 되어 지고 있는지를 고찰하였다. 이상의 분석과 고찰의 결과 한옥의 재구축에 있어서는 근소하지만 이미지적 재생디자인 수법의 비중이 전반적으로 높다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과를 통해 한옥의 재구축을 진행함에 있어서 여전히 외관과 같은 조형적 요소의 이미지를 중시하여 재구축되어지고 있음을 알 수 있었으며 한편으로 내부공간의 질적인 변화에 대한 접근도 일부 보이기 시작함을 알 수 있었다. 향후 외관적 이미지뿐 만아니라 한옥의 내부공간의 질적인 변화에 있어서도 보다 심도 있는 접근이 이루어져 외부와 내부의 통합적인 계획이 이루어질 필요가 있으며 그러한 방법론적 접근이 보다 효율적인 한옥의 재생과 활용을 촉진시켜 나아가는데 적절하리라 판단된다. 이러한 재생디자인적 접근은 한옥이 현대라는 시점에 있어서 새로운 건축적, 공간적 가치를 발휘하기 위한 초석이 될 수 있으리라고 생각된다.
Abstract
In recent, as rediscovery of the modern value is developed through the support by the government and the reinterpretation of the traditional culture, a Korean-style house(Hanok) also becomes an object of interest. Among these various viewpoints to see the Korean-style house, the necessity of a new spatial design approach to contain the types and functions of the architectural space of the Hanok appropriate to the modern society is raised which is not a passive approach to preserve the existing cultural assets. Out of the methods of the new spatial design of the Hanok which reflect the paradigm of the times, this study has the purpose to make an approach from the viewpoint of 'Restoration design'. As the 21st century started, the recycle design whose active discussion and performance is made largely by Europe and Japan can be called a design method in the hardware part which enables continuous adaptive use of a building by applying a new use purpose and method to a building which doesn't use the recycle design or has low efficiency. In that meaning, it can be considered to be a very important architectural activity historically, architecturally and spatially. Based on the methodological characteristics of the recycle design, this study largely divides the types of recycle into coherent recycle and imagery recycle and dedto s detailed methods of space, consinto ion and material and wardrobe used for each case to analyze the methods of concrete recycle design through the methodological analysis of recycle cases of the existing modern buildings. For the objects of recycle cases of the Hanok made recently based on the design methods acquired here, it was examined how the architectural and spatial characteristics of the Hanok can be reconsinto ed through what kinrecycmethods. The approach of the recycle design is considered to be a cornerstone to show a new architectural and spatial value in the viewpoint of the Hanok existence in modern times.
