대학의 디자인 교육과정에서 지속가능디자인 교육의 필요성에 관한 연구 -커뮤니케이션 디자인을 중심으로-

The whole world is making every effort to revive the environment of the earth which is being devastated. For the future of mankind, making our society durable is being under way in every field, let alone in design. The concept of environmental design being referred to, similar expressions such as 'green design', 'eco-design', and 'eco-friendly design' are often used. But it is important to understand that sustainable design takes into consideration material, design, the social and economic effect of a production process. Sustainable design refers not to the design for a product but to the design for a process. It thus means that sustainable design education is not the education which is placed on the final graphic of a product and it is important to teach students to design a design process. The purpose of this thesis is rather to research both the necessity of sustainable design education and its curricular direction via case studies of sustainable design than to examine sustainable design itself. People now do not deny the fact that design can have an important effect on their lives. Designers can have an opportunity to change culture and environment through design. Sustainable design education is able to plant an environmental notion as well as a sense of moral values in prospective designers. By doing sustainable design in the future they can also change not only the consciousness of the consumers who spend their design but also the consumers' patterns of consumption into a positive way for the earth environment.
